Operations Director – Aerospace
Location: Oxfordshire, UK
Our client is a pioneer in the development of next generation electric motor technology for the aerospace market.
The company was recently spun out of an established organisation, where it formed the aerospace offering to take advantage of the rapidly accelerating market for electric propulsion relating to urban air mobility.
With the support of experienced investors, the company is scaling fast to meet the demand from its growing list of high profile partners. As it embarks on the exciting journey ahead, the business is looking for an Operations Director to play a crucial role in shaping the operations; developing the manufacturing capability and supply chain.
Success in this role will have a far-reaching impact across the company – facilitating growth, helping to optimise overall business performance, and maintaining the company’s position at the vanguard of electrification as it paves a sustainable future for aerospace.
The Operations Director will:
– Have held an operational leadership role, having spent at least 3 – 4 years in an aerospace approved production organisation – preferably already a Form 4 holder, or with sufficient experience to support a CAA Form 4 Nominated Person application
– Be experienced in setting up pilot production lines and ramping up manufacturing capabilities
– Possess a hands-on approach and the ability to effectively scale manufacturing, supply chains and processes to enable growth in an environment where processes are not yet fully established
– Have a strong interest in green technology, specifically sustainable aviation and the far reaching benefits it brings to society and the world
In summary, the role calls for a hands-on operator, as well as a strategic decision-maker from an aerospace manufacturing background, who brings a pragmatic understanding of the operational realities of a start-up business, scaling at pace.
There is a compelling package on offer and, for the right individual – suitably qualified by experience and attitude – this should prove to be a challenging, rewarding and potentially career defining role.
